Born in Australia.
Built for Gaza.
It started with a kitchen table.
In late 2023, three families in Sydney sat around a kitchen table watching the news from Gaza. They felt the same thing every Australian feels in moments like these: a quiet, steady ache, and the impossible question — what can one person actually do?
They started small. A WhatsApp group, a single bank transfer, a verified contact on the ground. One food parcel turned into ten. Ten became a thousand. The group became a registered Australian humanitarian initiative with partners across Khan Younis, Rafah and Gaza City.
Today, Lumen Aid Australia coordinates monthly shipments of food, clean water, medical supplies and winter shelter — channeled through audited local partners. We are deliberately small, deliberately transparent, and deliberately unflinching.
Five principles that hold us when the news is heavy.
Dignity first
We aid people, not headlines. No staged photos.
Radical clarity
Every dollar tracked. Every report public.
Local trust
Gaza-led teams. We listen before we ship.
Long horizon
Aid today, infrastructure tomorrow.
Quiet resolve
We outlast the news cycle.

Volunteers, doctors, parents, neighbours.
Our Australian team is made of people who hold day jobs and pour their evenings into logistics, fundraising, audits and emergency calls. Our Gaza partners are doctors, teachers and engineers who never left.
